Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Commissioner, CP Wilson Inalegwu on Friday 16th June 2017 held a Security Meeting with Stakeholders in Dekina LGA.
The meeting which took place at the LGA Secretariat was attended by the Traditional rulers, Fulani Leaders, Youths Leaders, Community Leaders, Religious Leaders, Vigilante Group, Representative of Security Agencies, LG Administrator, Secretary, Dekina Local Government Area.
Inalegwu while addressing the stakeholders directed that security committee be set up to look into the root causes of the clashes between Herdsmen/Farmers in Dekina district and to come up with the recommendations.

The CP disclosed that the committee should be made up of Fulanis, Farmers, Traditional rulers, Community Leaders, Youths Leaders, Vigilante Group, Religious Leaders, Representative of Security agencies, LG Administrator.
He appealed to both the herdsmen and the community to live in peace with one another and not to take the law into their hands.
 CP Inalewu further stated that the State Government and the Police are doing everything possible to ensure that there is peace in Dekina LGA.
 He appealed to Herders to remain calm as the authority is on top of the situation even as he assured them that drastic security measures will be taken to address the pending challenges.
