Following his exploits in containing the activities of kidnappers and high profile robbery kingpins across the country, the Commander of the Inspector General of Police Response Team (IRT), Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari has been honoured with the Golden Star Award for Outstanding Gallantry.

The award initiated by Security Watch Africa to recognize professional excellence was presented by no other person but the Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Kpotum Idris.
A humble DCP Abba Kyari simply said when asked for comments, “Glory be to God Almighty. Today I was honored with Golden Star Award for Outstanding Gallantry in Africa by Security Watch Africa.
