IGP Idris in Colombia for 3-Day International Congress on ‘Fight Against Kidnapping’.

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris in continuation of his effort to bring an end to the menace of Kidnapping in Nigeria and as well strengthen International Cooperation between Nigeria and other Countries of the World in the fight against violent crimes is currently attending a three (3) day seminar of the International Congress on the fight against the menace of kidnapping being held at Cartagena, Colombia from Monday, October 9, 2017 to Wednesday, 11th October, 2017.

A statement from Force headquarters said, “The conference which entered its second day on Tuesday 2nd seeks to bring new impetus, ideas and experience into crime prevention and control strategies of the Nigeria Police Force in the fight against kidnapping and other violent crimes in the country.

It said, “The Nigeria Police Force has recorded significant successes and achievements in the fight against Kidnapping and other violent crimes since the inception of the present Police Administration, under the leadership of IGP Ibrahim Idris.

“The need to compare notes and share ideas and strategies with other Countries of the World informed the attendance of this year’s conference by the Inspector General of Police.

“The outcome of the conference will be far-reaching and will definitely improve the capacity and capability of the Nigeria Police Force nationwide in preventing, detecting and reducing cases of kidnapping in Nigeria to the barest.”
