The Inspector General of Police, IGP Intelligence Response Team (IRT) Commanded by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Abba Kyari have smashed a notorious 5-man robbery gang who specialize in robbing innocent citizens of cash withdrawn from banks including ATMs.
The gang according to the Police trail unsuspecting members of the public and break into their cars with implements, after which their carry out their nefarious acts.
Their modus operandi includes tracking citizens who withdraw money from banks in Abuja, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina and Zamfara States.

A police statement said, “Following Credible Intelligence received on some notorious syndicate of criminals terrorizing innocent citizens in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja, Kaduna and neighboring states, men of IRT swung into action.
“After serious follow up on the Intelligence, operatives of IRT led by Superintendent of Police (SP) Usman Maibindiga succeeded in arresting all 5 members of the syndicate which specializes in trailing cars carrying money withdrawn from banks by innocent Citizens and robbing them.
The Police listed the suspects arrested as: Ademola Adekunle 32yrs Native of Oyo State, Useini Aminu 44yrs Native of Kogi State, Babangida Abdullahi 35yrs Native of Zamfara state, Tunde Adebola 40yrs Native of Ogun State and Ibrahim Abdullahi 40yrs.
They were all arrested in Kaduna State.
Items recovered from the criminal gang are Master Keys, Spanner, Pliers and several tools used in opening car and breaking Car glasses.
