Immigrations Service Conducts POP of 1st Conversion Course for Officers in Kano

The Comptroller General of Immigration Muhammad Babandede at the Passing Out Parade of the 1st Conversion course at the Customs Training College, Gorom-Dutse, Kano State.

The conversion course is a training program put in place for the conversion from Inspectorate cadre to Officers Cadre which before the assumption of office of Muhammad Babandede was meant for degree holders who were trained at the premier Immigration Training School kano

The CGI on assumption of office ought for approval for the conversion and the board approved

In his speech at the graduation, Babandede gave justification for the programme saying, “I can’t imagine very intelligent, committed and experience officers been down played due to lack of a degree certificate, we should encourage proficiency, hard work, dedication and efficiency at work than mere pursuit of certification which has pushed many to obtaining one by any means.

“it is on this ground that the 1st Conversion course was organized to take care of the backlog who have put in 10 years and above in the service, with skills and knowledge that place them on the officers cadre (Superintendent Cadre) 08-13. Hence they have equal chance of one day becoming a Comptroller General.

The Officers were happy for this encouraging move by the management of NIS and grateful to the Hon Minister of Interior Lt Gen (Rtd) Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau and the board CDFIPB.
