Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen. Tukur Buratai, on Tuesday approved the special promotions of 6,199 soldiers serving in Operation Lafiya Dole to various ranks ranging from Private, Lance Corporals to Warrant Officers in the Nigerian Army.

A statement by Brigadier General, Sani Usman gave the breakdown of the beneficiaries of the special promotion as follows – 329 Staff Sergeant promoted to Warrant Officers; 371 Sergeants promoted to Staff Sergeants; 707 Corporals promoted to Sergeants.
Others are 1,290 Lance Corporals promoted to Corporals and 3, 502 Private soldiers promoted to Lance Corporals bring the total to 6, 199 NCO’s.
Brigadier General Usman further quoted Lt. General Buratai congratulating the beneficiaries of the elevation.
He also urged them to increase the tempo of the ongoing clearance operations of the Boko Haram terrorists in the North East.
