Network of Civil Society Organizations in Nigeria, an amalgamation of 137 registered Civil Societies, Non-Governmental Organizations, political cum Ethnic pressure groups in Nigeria, have awarded Borno State Police Commissioner, CP Damian A. CHUKWU with its most prestigious Award of Excellence!.
This is in recognition of the CP’s commitment in ensuring the protection of lives and property of the good people of Borno state, as well as the peace building efforts of Borno state police command in the ongoing fight against insurgency.

Presenting the award to CP Chukwu, the National Coordinator, Comrade Kalu Victor, said his organization is committed to the course of the Nation to ensure that a beautiful brand of democracy that respect the rule of law and constitutional rights of citizens becomes a national ethos that must be pursued with vigour.
He added that his organization has keenly followed the personality and administration of CP Damian A. Chukwu through its performance awareness creation since his assumption as Commissioner of police Borno state.
In his response, CP Chukwu thanked the Inspector General of police IGP Ibrahim K. Idris, for giving him the opportunity to serve, as well as the Network of civil society organizations for the recognition and award which he dedicated to the officers and men of the command for their team spirit!.
