Jonathan to Shettima: Confess the Truth about Chibok Girls to Nigrerians.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has asked Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State to own up and tell Nigerians the truth about the ignoble role he played in the alleged kidnap of the over 200 Chibok girls by Boko Haram.

Mr Ikechukwu Eze, Media Adviser to former President, in a response to a statement by the Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima, accusing the ex-President of bad governance and poor choices, described the governor’s accusations as parochial and jaundiced.

While debunking the allegations of poor governance, Eze cited Jonathan’s key achievements which he said were yet to be matched by the present administration.

Jonathan challenged Shettima to confess the double roles he played in the kidnap of the Chibok school girls adding that it goes beyond the fabricated accusation that “Jonathan thought I kidnapped the Chibok girl”.

Text of the statement said, “He should be able to tell us if it was Jonathan’s poor choices that led the governor to expose students of Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok to avoidable danger, in total disregard of a Federal Government directive to the governors in the three states most affected by Boko Haram to relocate their students writing the West African School Certificate Examinations to safe zones.”

He described the book entitled, “On a Platter of Gold- How Jonathan won and lost Nigeria”, authored by Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, spokesperson of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), as full of lies and gossip.

He pointed out that the book was a vendetta mission owing from the unceremonious way the former minister was eased out of office by former President Jonathan
