Operatives of the Katsina Police on Wednesday 7/03/2018 at about 8.30pm, based on a tip off, succeeded in busting a notorious syndicate of armed robbers/kidnappers/cattle rustlers terrorizing Safana, Kurfi and Dutsinma LGAs of Katsina state.
As a result of a shootout which ensued during the operation, 7 gang members were overpowered and arrested.
Commissioner of Police in the state, Mohammed Wakili who made this known said nemesis caught up with the syndicate when the gang had a fierce encounter with Operation Sharan Daji Police Patrol Team attached to Safana Division.
The 7 suspects arrested during the raid are Yusa’u Ishuhu ‘m’ aged 30yrs of Tsaskiya village, Safana LGA of Katsina state, Iliyasu Isah ‘m’ aged 30yrs of Jikamshi village, Musawa LGA of Katsina state and Umaru Ibrahim ‘m’ aged 25yrs of Garin Wazirin village, Safana.
Others are Tukur Abdulaziz ‘m’ aged 30yrs of Wurma village, Kurfi LGA of Katsina state, Ibrahim Rabi’u ‘m’ aged 30yrs of Tsaskiya village, Safana LGA of Katsina state, Ibrahim Mamman ‘m’ aged 40yrs of Rawayau village, Kurfi LGA of Katsina state and Bala Babangida ‘m’ aged 25yrs of Rawayau village, Kurfi LGA of Katsina state.
Exhibits recovered by the Police from the gang include two AK 47 rifles with Breech nos. 56045391 and 071498975 with two empty magazines were recovered in their possession.
The CP said the suspects have confessed to be the masterminds of the deadly armed robbery attacks of 1/3/2018 at Dankalgo – Rawayau village Kurfi LGA of Katsina state and others.
