In furtherance of its determination of clamp down on criminal elements, the Katsina State Police Command has busted a notorious armed robbery gang.
A statement by the Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Wakili said, “On 27th of June 2018 at about 7.45pm, patrol team attached to Sabon Gari Division received a distress call that armed robbers were attacking one Hajiya Aisha Abdullahi in her house at Sabuwar Unguwa Quarters, Katsina who robbed her of motor vehicle Toyota Highlander, 2003 model, ash in colour with registration number AX 579 KTS.
“The Police team swung into action and while moving towards the scene sighted a motor vehicle with the said description in an accident scene adjacent to GRA Jumma’at mosque, Katsina.
“The only occupant, suspected to be one of the robbers died in the accident.
“In the course of investigation the identity of the armed robbers was unraveled which led to the arrest of the following suspects on 28/06/2018.

They are Sanusi Abdullahi, alias “SAGA” aged 22yrs of Sabuwar Unguwa Quarters, Katsina, Mansur Abdullahi, alias “WASHA” aged 21yrs of Sabuwar Unguwa Quarters, Katsina.
“Furthermore, on 1st of July 2018, the third suspect, one Aliyu Salisu, alias “ALIOUS” aged 22yrs of the same address, who has been on the run, was arrested in possession of another stolen motor vehicle CRV Honda Jeep, light green in colour, with registration No. BE 788 NSR and two GSM handsets, property of one Nasiru Lawal, of No. 11 Sarkin Arewa Street, Dutsen-Safe Low Cost, Katsina.
The Police listed exhibits recovered as one toy gun, two sharp knives, one home theatre, sum of five thousand and thirty Naira, and 2 GSM Handsets.
Others are one motor vehicle Toyota Highlander 2003 model, ash in colour with reg. No. AX 579 KTS, one motor vehicle CRV Honda Jeep, light green in colour, with reg. No. BE 788 NSR and 2 torchlight’s.
