Operatives of Katsina Police Command have busted a notorious syndicate that destroys vehicles parked at bank’s premises to steal.
According to the State Police Commissioner, CP Mohammed Wakili, the police operatives also busted a drung ring, arrested the baron behind it and nabbed a fake currency dealer.
Wakili said, “Gwana On 28/11/2018 at about 15:20hrs, the Command succeeded in busting a notorious syndicate of thieves, that specializes in breaking bank customers’ vehicles and steal their money.
Nemesis caught up with the suspects when they trailed one Umar A. Maigoro, aged 32yrs, of Kofar Kaura Layout, Katsina, who withdrew some money from a commercial bank along IBB way, Katsina.
The complainant being a victim of similar incident became wary and suspicious when he discovered two motorcyclists were on his trail.
He then alerted policemen on duty at Federal Medical Center where the suspects were waylaid and arrested while in the act of breaking and stealing from the vehicle.
The following members of the syndicate were arrested-Su’aibu Isah, alias ‘BABA’, aged 32yrs of Hayin Danmani Kaduna state, Abdulrazaq Musa, aged 30yrs of Hayin Dogo, Zaria, Kaduna state, and Nasiru Musa, aged 27yrs of Dan Magaji Quarters, Zaria, Kaduna state.
One Toyota Corolla, black in colour, with registration number KTU 182 CF, Lagos, suspected to be stolen was recovered from their possession.
Suspects have been terrorizing commercial bank customers in Katsina state and its environs.
They confessed to the commission of several similar crimes using same modus operandi.

On the arrest of the Notorious Drug Baron/Recovery of large Quantity of drugs and Indian hemp, he said, “On 28/11/2018 at about 11:30hrs, based on a tip off, the Command succeeded in arresting one Shamsudin Salisu, aged 25yrs of Maigamji village, Funtua LGA of Katsina state in possession of 182 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp, 176 Exol-5 tablets, 16 sachets of Diazepam tablets, 15 tablets of Tramadol and 395 tablets of D5. Suspect confessed to the crime. Investigation is ongoing.
Arrest of Notorious Armed Robbery Syndicate that specializes in attacking Okada Riders:
“On 27/11/2018 at about 15:00hrs, based on a tip off, the Command succeeded in arresting a notorious syndicate that specializes in attacking Okada riders and robbing them of their motorcycles.
“Nemesis caught up with the duo of one Ibrahim Umar alias “DANSMALL”, aged 19yrs of Sabuwar Unguwa Quarters, Katsina and Abubakar Ali alias “MAIGIDAN KALLO”, aged 47yrs of the same address when they were arrested while in the commission of the offence.
“Suspects confessed to have stolen three (3) motorcycles using the same modus operandi. Investigation is ongoing.
Arrest of Fraudster, Recovery of 2million Niger Republic CFA franc suspected to be fake.
“On 29/11/2018 at about 14:45hrs, the Command succeeded in arresting one Sanusi Sada, aged 33yrs, of Kwado Quarters, Katsina in possession of two million Niger Republic CFA francs, currency suspected to be counterfeit.
“Suspect was nabbed when he was trying to dupe an unsuspecting member of the public. Investigation is ongoing.”
