The Katsina State Police Command said its personnel on Friday busted a notorious gang of trans-border drug trafficking ring and arrested some of the suspects.
It said the gang specializes in trafficking prohibited drugs between Nigeria and Niger Republic through Katsina State.

A statement by DSP Isah Gambo, spokesman of the command said, “Katsina Police Command wishes to inform the general public that, on 18th May 2018 at about 11pm, it succeeded in busting a notorious syndicate of trans-border drug trafficking suspects.
“Police Patrol team attached to GRA Division, Katsina while on routine patrol along Sabon-Titin Kwado, Katsina intercepted a Gulf III Volkswagen motor vehicle, red in colour, with registration No. DTM 160 FB, driven by one Dayyabu Auwal of Dutsinma LGA of Katsina state in company of his cohort one Mujitaba Shitu of Maiaddua LGA of Katsina state.
“Suspects confessed to have been in the business of drug trafficking from Nigeria to Niger Republic through the Kwangolom border in Maiaddua LGA of Katsina state.”
