Katsina Police nab notorious armed robber/killer of gang which specializes in blocking highways and robbing motorists.

Following the blockade of a major highway, the Hawan Dan Maigyada-along Yantumaki-Kankara road in Dan Musa LGA of Katsina State and the killing of a motorist, the Police in Katsina State have arrested a robbery kingpin and leader of the gang responsible for the vicious act.

Disclosing this in a statement entitled ‘Arrest of Notorious Armed Robbery/Cattle Rustling Suspect’, signed by DSP Gambo Isah, Police Public Relations Officer, Katsina State Command, the police said, “As clampdown on all forms of crime and criminality in Katsina state thrives on, criminal hideouts will continue to be raided with a view to liberating the state and keeping the hoodlums at bay.

“On Tuesday 11^th July 2017 at about 9.30pm, one Mohammed Bello aka Kiri Gorare Na Mushoda aged 25yrs of Bicci, Malamawa village, Danmusa LGA, Katsina state was arrested in connection with the Armed Robbery incident.

“The robbery incident took place on Sunday 26^th March 2017 during which a notorious syndicate of Armed Robbers blocked Hawan Dan Maigyada along Yantumaki – Kankara Highway, Danmusa LGA, Katsina state, where they shot and killed a Motorist one Saidu Abdullahi aged 45yrs.

One Bello Hamza aged 40yrs of the same address was also injured on the face and escaped.

Mohammed Bello confessed to the crime and mentioned the five conspirators as his cohorts.

They are Haron Anchau, Mushoda of Bicci Bakin Ranji, Gabudeji Namushoda of Bicci Bakin Lamba, Dikko of Garhi Dutsinma, and Ali Iraqi of Mazoji Matazu LGA Katsina.

The statement added that detectives are tirelessly working round the clock to ensure discreet and thorough investigations of all suspects arrested.

“Efforts are also being intensified to recover their operational arms and other exhibits” it added.
