Determined to chase armed robbers, kidnappers and other criminals out of the state, Katsina Police Command have busted an armed robbery syndicate terrorizing citizens and dispossessing them of their property and money at gun point.
Also, the Command has arrested feared, notorious cattle rustler named Sadiq Usman aged 28yrs of Magamin Maitarko Mutum Daya, who hails from Zamfara State.
Giving details of the arrests of the criminals, DSP Isah Gambo, Police Public Relations Officer of the Command said, “On 15th of July 2017, Katsina State Police Command busted a syndicate of Armed robbers led by one Abdullahi Hassan aged 24yrs of Jibia LGA Katsina State.
He was arrested in connection with an armed robbery incident in which he and his gang attacked one Salisu Lawal of Tudun Tikari Jibia with dangerous weapons and robbed him of money the sum N2.4million.

“During Police investigation the Command was able to recover the sum of N2.09million, a Hoejen Motorcycle with engine No. W4G07476 and one ITEL GSM handset, all were being the proceeds of the armed robbery money.
The suspect confessed to the crime and is assisting the police on other incidents and the arrest of his gang members.
On the Cattle Rustler, the Katsina Police said, “On 19th July 2017 at about 10am the Command was able to arrest a notorious cattle rustler, one Sadiq Usman aged 28yrs of Magamin Maitarko Mutum Daya Zamfara State.
“The Suspect was intercepted with six (6) cows at Gana-Jigawa area of Mashi LGA Katsina state belonging to one Adamu Umar aged 63yrs of Kankuyawa village Mashi LGA Katsina state.
Noting that the suspect has confessed to the crime, the PPRO said, “Detectives are tirelessly working round the clock to ensure discreet and thorough investigations of all suspects arrested”.
He added that efforts are also being intensified to recover their operational arms.
