Katsina Police smash Notorious Cattle Rustling, Car Jacking Syndicates; recovers arms, ammunition, Cows.

 As clamp down on all forms of crime and criminality in the state thrives on, Katsina state Police Command has succeeded and recovered one AK 47 Rifle with Breech No. 408169 with its sixteen rounds of live ammunition.

Also recovered were two AK 47 rifle’s Magazines, four rustled cows and a Boxer motorcycle with Chasis No.60927 during a gun duel with cattle rustlers along Sakwattawa-Shawere cattle route.

A statement by the command signed by DSP Isah Gambo said, “On 23/10/2017 at about 03:30hrs, one Ibrahim Gai ‘m’ of Aidun Hassan village, Danmusa LGA of Katsina state, reported that un- identified cattle rustlers invaded their settlement and stole away their cows.

“Team of Operation Sharan-Daji were immediately dispatched to one of the cattle routes, where on sighting the team they engaged the team on a gun duel as a result of which one of the cattle rustlers was gun down.

“The the rest of the gang took to their heels abandoning the above mentioned items. 

 “Investigation is on top gear with a view to arrest the rest of the fleeing hoodlums and to recover more of their operational arms.

 In a similar vein, Katsina state Command succeeded and arrested a notorious syndicate that specializes in carjacking. 

 “The suspects one Ahmed Mohd ‘m’ of Kinkina Street, Unguwar Rimi, Kaduna state and Usman Mohd ‘m’ of Kerau quarters, Katsina state were intercepted on 26/10/2017 at about 0030hrs, at Kongolam village, Katsina state border with Niger Republic trying to escape into Niger Republic with a stolen motor vehicle Toyota 4Runner with  registration No. ABJ 225 TL.

 “They stole from No.52 Lome Crescent, Wuse, Zone 7, Abuja belonging to one Hajia Maryam Kinasam staff of Standard Organization of Nigeria, Abuja.  Suspects are making useful statements and are assisting the police in our investigation.
