Kidnapping/Armed Robbery Offensive: FCT Police deploys 150-man “Operation Puff Adder 2” team to flush out criminal elements.

The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, Bala Corona on Wednesday February 17, 2021 launched the zCT phase of ‘Operation Puff Adder 2’ against criminal elements in Abuja with a directive to policemen to be ruthless to all such criminal elements.

He also charged all personnel deployed within the FCT to be professional, firm, dedicated, civil with law-abiding citizens.

Addressing the personnel comprising MOPOL, CTU, Special Forces and other units of the force, CP Corona recalled that two days ago, the Inspector-General of Police IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu launched the strategic operation (Operation Puff Adder II) involving the deployment of human and operational assets to address the emerging security challenges and rid the Country of criminal elements.

“Consequently, the Inspector-General of Police has graciously deployed one-hundred and fifty (150) personnel consisting of operatives from the Police Mobile Force, Counter Terrorism Unit and Special Forces to the Federal Capital Territory to reinforce the on-going counter kidnapping operations.

“The deployment will strengthen security, dismantle and dislodge all criminal hideouts especially kidnappers camp within the FCT”, he said.

“In addition, I wish to express my profound gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu and the Minister of the FCT, Mallam Muhammed Musa Bello for their unflinching support towards the FCT Command.”
