The Police in Kogi state have arrested several suspected kidnappers and armed robbers terrorizing the Auchi Okene road as well as the Okene-Ogori Mangongo road, while several firearms and ammunition were recovered.
A statement by the Command giving details of the arrests said, “On the 10th of June, 2017 at about 11pm, based on intelligence report on the activities of Kidnappers within Kogi Central, Operatives from SARS promptly intercepted and arrested Mohammed Abubakar of Fulani Camp Ihima in Okehi LGA of Kogi State.
Exhibits recovered include: one AK47 rifle, one empty magazine and one pump action gun with 2 live cartridges
Suspect confessed to series of Robbery and Kidnapping incidences along Okene-Auchi road, Okene-Ogori Magongo road, and Edo State.

In the same vein, it said, “On the 25th May 2017 at about 6am, acting on a tip-off on the activities of criminal elements terrorizing the State, operatives from SARS promptly arrested Mauza Salem of Gidan Gwari in Ero Community, Lokoja LGA.
One single barrel gun was recovered from the suspect who confessed to the Crime.
Further investigation led to the arrest of Alhaji Mutari Suleiman of Iwa Community via Oshokoshoko, Kogi State on 9th June 2017 and recovery of one single barreled gun.
Efforts are at top gear to arrest other members of the syndicate.
Also, “On the 8th of June 2017 at about 3.30pm, based on information, operatives from Ankpa Division and members of Vigilante conducted a search in the House of one Mohammed Abubakar in Emerge Village, Ankpa LGA
The police recovered two locally made pistols from the suspect.
