As part of its continuous onslaught against criminal activities in the state such as armed robbery, kidnapping, cultism, cattle rustling, the Police in Kogi has dislodged some vicious and notorious kidnap for ransom gangs and busted their hideout and camps across the State.
The operatives attached to Special Anti-robbery Squad acting on a tip-off arrested the following suspected kidnappers and recovered arms and ammunition from them.
The suspects are Samson Akogun, Joseph Mathias, Hassan Idris, Iliyasu Shaibu, Alhaji Shadow, all of Egabada and Ede Adejoh of Idah LGA
The suspects allegedly kidnapped one Ogbu Chikehi of Egabada town in Igalamela/Odolu in the month of September and collected Ransom of #100,000.
The suspects confessed belonging to a gang terrorizing Idah/Odolu area.
Items recovered from them include, one Pump Action, Machetes, the sum of #33,400 and other dangerous charms.
In a related development, operatives attached to Kabba Division intercepted and arrested a notorious armed robber name Shehu Mohammed of behind Bata Shops Kabba.

On interrogation, suspect confessed belonging to a syndicate who has been terrorizing Kabba town and its environment.
Efforts are in top gear to arrest other members of his syndicate.
Items recovered from him include one locally made pistol with one live Cartridge.
These achievement were due to the proactive strategies rooted in intelligence led policing and robust interaction with the various strata of our communities, particularly in the area of information gathering, since it has become obvious that security is an all stakeholders affairs.
The area commanders as well as DPOs were charged to beef up security in their Area of Responsibilities (AOR) and ensure massive deployment of police patrol teams and undercover operatives to black spot, flash points and other vulnerable criminal spots to nip in the bud all forms of crimes and criminally across the State and make sure that detection of crime are prompt to serve as effective deterrent to all criminals.
The renewed commitment of the command to reduce crimes and criminality in the State remains unwavering.
All the suspects will be arraigned in Court on completion of investigation.
