Kogi Police raid armed hoodlums hideout, nab Robbers, Kidnappers, Cultists; recue Abducted Pastor

The Kogi State Police Command carried out a massive raid on criminal elements such as Armed Robbers, Kidnappers, Cultists, Cattle Rustlers, and other violent criminals terrorizing the State and Nigerians passing through the state to their various destinations.

Commissioner of Police, CP Wilson Inalegwu said the crackdown by officers of the state police command was in furtherance of determination to demeaning the capacities of these criminals to wreak havoc on law abiding citizens.

Giving details of the achievements recorded in the crackdown, the Police said, “On the 7th of July, 2017 at about 7.15pm, operatives from SARS acting on a tip-off arrested one Ibrahim Ali and Abdullahi Idris for robbing one Idris Abdullahi of the sum of N350, 000 at Ganaja Village, Lokoja.

“Suspects confessed to the crime, while the sum of N100, 000 was recovered from them.

“On the 13th of July, 2017, operatives from the Command attached to Okene-Auchi road; acting on an intelligence report arrested one Habeeb Abdulkareem aged 25yrs of Eika in Okene LGA and recovered the following exhibits from him: One locally made Pistol and one live Cartridge.

“During interrogation, it was revealed that, the suspect is an old time criminal on wanted list.

“Effort is on to track down remaining members of the syndicate. Suspect will be arraigned in court on completion of investigation.

“On the 13th of July, 2017, operatives from SARS acting on intelligence led operation stormed a criminal hideout at Inye in Ankpa Local Government and rescued one Pastor Oliver Clement aged 40yrs of Imani in Olamaboro Local Government of Kogi State who was kidnapped on 9/7/2017.

“During the process, one Amodu Isah of Inye in Ankpa Local Government of Kogi State was arrested, while the following exhibits: One Locally made Pistol, One live Cartridge, Two Hammers, A Cutlass and a knife were recovered from him.

“Efforts are on to arrest other gang members”.

“On the 14th of July, 2017 at about 1500hrs, operatives from SARS acting on intelligence arrested one Gade Garba aka Shingee aged 38yrs of Fulani Camp Suhu Koro in Kwara State and recovered Two Pump action, One Single Barrel Gun, Two Cutlasses and Two sticks from him.

During interrogation, suspect confessed belonging to twelve armed robbery gangs operating with five AK47 rifles.

“Efforts are on to arrest the remaining members of the syndicate. Suspect will be arraigned in court on of investigation.”
