Kogi Police Smash Notorious Kidnap Syndicate; Recover Arms and Ammunition.

Ahead of the Eid El Kabir Celebrations, several travelers and Muslim faithful planning to travel to and from Kogi State can be rest assured of peaceful and secure festivities following the smashing and arrest of a notorious kidnapping gang by the State Police Command.

In this regard, the Kogi State Police Command, on Wednesday, through a proactive crime preventing strategies, swooped on the gangs hideout and arrested members of the notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing the State particularly Okene axis.

A statement from the office of the State Police Commissioner, CP Wilson Inalegwu giving details said, “On the Wednesday 30th August 2017, at about 9am, the ever vigilante Police Officers attached to Okene Division on pin down duty stopped a Gulf Station Wagon car.

“But the driver refused to stop, and was trying to escape but was given a hot chase by the operatives who eventually intercepted the Car and arrested the following suspects.

“They are Mohammed Abdulrazak 30years of Esomi Quarters, Check point OKENE, Yusuf Abona Jafaru 27 years of Oriental Hotel, check point OKENE, and Iliyasu Yusuf Nyamida 37 years of Idoji Quarters, OKENE.

“Items recovered from the suspects includes One Barreta Pistol with six rounds of live ammunition, One Tiger Pistol Revolver with twelve live ammunition, Nine Hand sets of different types, Small box containing surgical implements, One HP Laptop and One Ash colour Gulf station wagon Car with Reg. No. EKP 394 EX, EDO

“The suspects will be arraigned in court on completion of investigation, while effort is on top gear to track down other members of the syndicate.

Continuing the Kogi Police said, “The Command will not rest on its oars until incidents of crime are reduced to it barest minimum.

“We have the commitment, and the passion and the zeal to deliver on our mandate in ensuring adequate security of lives and property in Kogi State.

The Commissioner of Police also urged members of the public to continue to partner with the Police and other security agencies so as to make Kogi State the safest State in Nigeria.
