Major General Adeniyi Oyebade Appointed Commandant, Nigerian Defence academy.

 President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Major General Adeniyi Oyebade as the new Commandant for the Nigerian Defence Academy, Nigeria’s Premier Military Institution.

Oyebade’s appointment was approved by President Buhari after his recommendation by the Military High Command comprising the Chief of Defence Staff, the Service Chiefs of the Army, Navy and Airforce as well as the Minister of defence.

Until his appointment, Major General Oyebade was the General Officer, GOC Commanding 1 Infantry Division of the Nigerian Army, Kaduna.

He also served as Brigade Commander, Directing Staff, National Defence College for three years before being appointed Deputy Commandant of the College (NDC).

The 1 division’s area of responsibility (AOR) spans about ten states in the North amongst which are Kaduna, Katsina, Niger, Zamfara, Kebbi and Sokoto states.

Oyebade is taking over from Major General MT Ibrahim who is retired after the expiration of the one year extension granted him by President Muhammadu Buhari last year.
