Following the recent appointment and redeployment of senior officers across Nigerian Army formations and units, Major General Koko Isoni has assumed Command of Army Headquarters Garrison (AHQ Gar).
The Handing and Taking over ceremony took place on Friday 14 July 2023 at the AHQ Gar Conference room, Mogadishu Cantonment, Asokoro, Abuja.
The immediate past Commander, AHQ Gar, Major General Kabiru Garba in his valedictory speech appreciated officers and soldiers for their support, loyalty and commitment throughout his tour of duty.
He urged them to continue to work together as a team in order to make his successor’s tenure worthwhile.
The Commander, AHQ Gar, Major General Koko Isoni in his maiden speech eulogized the immediate past Commander for a job well done during his tour of duty.
He also urged officers and men under his Command to extend the same support given to his predecessor to him.
Until his recent appointment as Commander AHQ Gar, Major General Isoni was Deputy Theater Commander Joint Task Force Northeast, Operation Hadin Kai.
Highlights of the event were signing of handing and taking over note, decoration of the new Commander with AHQ Gar Insignia, hoisting of new command flag at the quarter guard and group photograph to signify a new era.
