Military Pensions Verification Exercise Takes Place November 26 to December 8, 2017; Combo ID Cards Available, Fraudsters warned to Stay Off Venues.

The Military Pensions Board (MPB), has announced dates for the 2017 verification exercise for all retired military personnel noting that the exercise will commence on November 26 and run till December 8 2017 across the country.

The Military Pensions Board however warned fraudsters and their co-conspirators to stay off the exercise venues as adequate machinery have been put in place to not only uncover their antics but to arrest and prosecute them in accordance with the law.

A statement in this regard signed by Squadron Leader Ikenna Ezendu, Public Relations Officer of the Pensions Board said, “The ministry of Defence in conjunction with the Military Pensions Board has scheduled a general verification exercise for all military pensioners on the payroll of the board from 26 November-8 December 2017.

“The exercise is basically to ascertain the existing pensioners on the current pension pay roll and to also update the biometric records,

“During the exercise, MPB Combo identification Cards will be issued to pensioners who are yet to collect.

“Please note that detailed brief for the conduct of the exercise will be communicated at a later date by the ministry of Defence.

“Consequently, all pensioners are requested to make themselves available for the verification exercise with the relevant documents.

“The exercise will be only for military retirees who are currently been paid pensions by MPB.

“Fraudsters are warned to stay away from the verification centers, as culprits will prosecuted in line with extant laws.”
