Misconduct/Murder of Innocent person: IGP Orders Arrest of 2 Mobile Police Officers, Unit Commander in Delta State.

The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris has ordered a full-fledged investigation into the shooting, killing of an innocent citizen and injuring of another innocent citizen by Mobile Police officers in Warri.

The IGP further directed that the unit commander of the Mobile Police unit where the MOPOL officers are serving and the police officers will face the full wrath of the law for the act of murder and professional misconduct.

In a statement entitled ‘Professional Misconduct and Murder’, which emanated from the office of CP Ibrahim Zanna, the Police said, “On Wednesday 19th August 2017, at about 710pm, one Agwere Hannah 14yrs old, reported at Oleh division, that at about 3.15pm, while she was by the road side, with one Fred Ejovwokeoghere of no 14 Obodo Str Okumagba L/Out Warri.

“They were shot by Police Mobile men who were in a  Hilux pick-up with Reg no PF 1297 SPY, coming from a ceremony at Emede community.

“That she sustained bullet wound on her right leg, while Fred Joke was fatally wounded and was rushed to the General Hospital, Olomoro by the Mobile men where he was confirmed dead by doctors.

“The Mobile men are F/NO 434176 SGT HABILA SUMAILA and F/NO 370741 ABICHE MOSES, all attached to MOPOL 33 ADO EKITI.

Sgt Habila Samaila is detained in ‘A’ Div Warri while Sgt Abichie Moses and DSP Joshua Audu, their Unit Commander have also been arrested.

The Mobile Policemen were said to be escorting one Aribogba Jonny, Director of Jonesco Company, Airport Road, Warri.

Meanwhile, the Mobile men and impounded Hilux will be transferred to the State headquarters Asaba for further action.
