The President of the Defence and Police Officers Wives Association (DEPOWA), Mrs Oghogho Musa, has commended the wife of the former Chief of Defence Staff, Barr (Mrs) Anwuli Lucky Irabor for her assistance to the poor and vulnerable in Nigeria.
Speaking at a send-off ceremony organised in her honour by DEPOWA at the Mogadishu Cantonment in Abuja, the President, who is also the wife of the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Christopher Musa, said Mrs Irabor’s legacy in the area of human capital development was undeniable.
“Today, we pay tribute to a remarkable individual, who has served as a true pillar as President of DEPOWA and has made tremendous achievements in sustaining the legacies of past DEPOWA Presidents.
“Your steadfast commitment and unwavering dedication which nurtured a culture of collaboration and innovation has left an unforgettable imprint in DEPOWA with remarkable successes that have been witnessed within and outside the shores of our dear country”, She said.
The DEPOWA President said her administration would continue to tap from her experience.

“We shall continue tap from your wealth of experience and I pledge to do my best to add to the society in tandem with the vision of the programme of the First Lady, Mrs Oluremi Tinubu”, she said.
Barr (Mrs), Irabor in her remarks said her tenure was marked by remarkable developments inspired by passion for bringing succour to the widows and orphans of the nation’s fallen heroes due to insecurity especially for the vulnerable in the society.
“The orphans were trained at the skills acquisition centre”, she said.
Some of the achievements recorded during her tenure include reaching out to the widows of fallen heroes, establishment of the Armed Forces Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Centre, among others.
Mrs. Irabor said the PTSD Centre project was sponsored by the CDS and Service Chiefs fully from the beginning to where it was when she handed over to her successor.
She prayed that God will give Mrs. Musa the grace to complete the project “so that we can all come for the commissioning and begin to access the facility for mental health of the military family.
Mrs Itabor disclosed that having passed the baton, she was confident that the new leadership of DEPOWA will reach even greater heights.
