Mubi suicide attacks: FG orders tight security at Worship Centers, Markets

The Federal Government has directed security agencies to immediately beef up security in Mubi, Adamawa State and environs, especially markets and places of worship.  

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, in a statement by his spokesman Mr Laolu Akande, said the goverment was shocked and outraged by the Tuesday’s suicide bomb attacks on a mosque and a market in Mubi.  

Osinbajo said the agencies were working to apprehend the criminals behind the attacks and bring them to justice.  

He also directed the National Emergency Management Agency to ensure speedy and adequate provision of medical supplies and relief materials to the victims.  

The vice president said this desecration of a place of worship by criminals was tragic and condemnable.  

He condoled with the victims and their families as well as the government and people of Adamawa State. 

The  vice president said he had been in touch with Governor Bindow Umaru Jibrilla.  

He expressed the gratitude of the Federal Government to the rescue workers and medical personnel who attended to the victims.
