NADCEL 2019: Army conducts clean the environment exercise in selected Lagos & Abuja areas

The Nigerian Army on Saturday embarked on sanitation exercises at Idumota market, Lagos island, Sabo Ikorodo and Ipodo Ikeja areas of Lagos State as part of events for Nigerian Army Day celebration 2019.

Also, the Army Headquarters Garrison in Abuja organized Environmental Sanitation Exercise to open up a service lane fom AYA towards Nyanya by Sunrise Estate which has been reduced to one lane by land slide making it prone to accidents as a sign of the command’s Corporate Social responsibility.

In Lagos, Army personnel cleared and swept the areas of dirt’s, refuse dumbs, gutters and excavated and evacuated blocked drainages and gutters in the above stated locations.

Many senior Army officers and soldiers especially from 81 Division Area of Responsibility were on the ground patriotically performing the annual exercise to the admiration and commendation of the public.

Indeed, the Nigerian Army under the effective leadership of Lt Gen Tukur Yusufu Buratai is the peoples’ army.

In Abuja, the Garrison Command said the exercise was in line with the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen TY Buratai’s design to encourage Civil/Military Relations.

“It is therefore expected that the exercise will enhance existing Civil-Military relations between the command and our host community” the Garrison said.
