NAF’s Ground Training Command (GTC) carries out medical outreach in Enugu Community.

A medical outreach program organized by the HQ Ground Training Command of the NAF was on Thursday 4th April 2019, held at Ogberr/Ukuruta Community, Agbani, Enugu State to commemorate the 55th NAF day celebration.

The event began at 0800hrs and was attended by indigenes of the community including women, children and the elderly.

NAF medical personnel were available to attend to members of the community.

The AOC GTC AVM Idi Amin opened the event by symbolically presenting a mosquito net to a nursing mother and administering vitamin to a child.

The Igwe of Ogbeke/ Ukuruta autonomous community Agbani HRH Igwe Okechukwu Nwobodo Ebgbunne expressed happiness over the event and thanked the NAF for holding the event.

He also thanked the NAF for citing the AFCS in his community.

He requested the assistance of the AOC in the enrolment of more children of the community in the school.

The AOC GTC while answering questions from the press commended the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar for approving the medical outreach and stated that the event was held to Foster the relationship between the NAF and civilians in the host community of the school which is part of NAF cooperate social responsibility to community.

He said the medical outreach will carry out consultations, diagnosis, counseling and treatment as well as provision of drugs to the indigenes.

He said that even if the illness required referral the NAF will ensure it is done and treatment carried out free of charge.

Free mosquito nets were distributed to all nursing mothers and households.

Turnout for the program was impressive as the target members of the community especially women, children and the elderly were present and attended to.
