Impounds Authorities of the Western Naval Command have impounded a total of 1, 330 Jerry Cans of various sizes loaded with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) by saboteurs and hoodlums who specialize in busting pipelines and smuggling the product.
Though few of the Jerry Cans were found to be empty as at the time naval operatives swooped on the bushes where these illegal siphoning acts are being conducted, the Navy confirmed that the loaded Jerry cans were found and recovered along pipeline distribution routes in Lagos state.

Such routes include riverine and marshy stretch of lands around Tarkwa Bay. Others are Corner Lose, Sanki, Idi Mangoro, Ilashe, Ilado and Juju Point.
A statement signed by Navy Captain Suleiman Dahun, Acting Director, Naval Information while giving more details said, “ Sequel to a recce (Reconnaissance) conducted by the Nigerian Navy on 14 December 2017, a raid was carried out and 1, 330 jerry cans both filled with PMS and empty cans were discovered and impounded around areas of Tarkwa Bay, Lagos.
“The areas included Corner Lose, Sanki, Idi Mangoro, Ilashe, Ilado and juju Point.
“Also, a valve point was discovered at Corner Lose.
“Pertinent to note that most jerry cans were located along the pipeline and in bushes.”
