NAVY WARNS OVER SALES OF FAKE RECRUITMENT FORMS BY FRAUDSTERS.
The Nigerian Navy said yesterday that forms for application into the service were free, warning the public and interested applicants not to fall prey to fraudsters planning to sell its forms.
“The Nigerian Navy wishes to inform the general public of fake recruitment forms, job offer letter being circulated by some unscrupulous persons to defraud unsuspecting members of the public” a statement signed by Commodore Christian Ezekobe, Director of Information said.
“A copy of such letter, supposedly signed by the Recruitment officer Captian Musa Sule of Nigerian Navy, was brought forward by one ESSIEN OBUWOKE UBANGHA who was alleged to have been offered recruitment/replacement form as a rating in the Nigerian Navy” it said.
Disclosing that “The Nigerian Navy of recent has been receiving calls from members of the public making inquiries about a supposed replacement scheme to recruit people into the Service”, Ezekobe said “It is important to state that the form do not emanate from the Nigerian Navy”.
“The general public is hereby informed and advised not to have any dealings with anybody on behalf of the Nigerian Navy. The Nigerian Navy recruitment form is free and it’s on-line. Several adverts to this effect have been made on national dailies”.
