Former Commandant of the National Defence College, Nigeria, Rear Admiral Adeniyi Osinowo was on Friday, 5th April 2019, pulled out of service after 38 years in service.
A colourful pulling out parade was mounted in his honour by Soldiers of Guards Brigade, Ratings of Naval Unit and Airmen of NAF Camp at the premises of the National Defence college with dignitaries including the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State and former Commandant of NDC, Rear Admiral John Jonah (rtd) in attendance.

Some other dignitaries at the pulling out ceremony included the wife of the Chief of Naval Staff, Mrs. Theresa Ibas, Commandant, Army War College, Major General Ofoche, a former Commandant of NDC, Rear Admiral Isa (rtd) and wife of the Commandant, Nigerian Defence Academy, Mrs. Florence Oyebade.
Commandant of NDC, Rear Admiral Makonju Mackson Kadiri, the directing staff and students of Course 27 including participants from 17 countries, were also on hand to add colour to the ceremony.
In his valedictory speech, Rear Admiral Osinowo gave thanks to God almighty, the Nigerian Navy and the nation for all the opportunity to serve both in the country and outside the country.
The retired officer is a member of Regular Course 1, Nigeria Naval College enlisted in 1981 and was commissioned Sub-Lieutenant in March 1984.
