New CP FCT Command visits Commander Guards Brigade

The newly appointed Commissioner of Police FCT Command CP Benneth Igweh on Tuesday 5th March 2024 paid a courtesy visit to the Commander Guards Brigade, Brig Gen Adebisi Onasanya at the Brigade Headquarters Aguyi Ironsi Cantonment Asokoro.
The visit was part of efforts by the CP geared towards achieving good working relationships and  synergy with  sister   security agencies within his area of responsibility.
In his opening remarks CP Igweh stated that the his visit was to formally solicit the support of the Commander Guards Brigade towards ensuring adequate security and enforcement of law and order within the federal Capital Territory as he formerly assumes Command.
CP Igweh noted that while serving in several other capacities in the past , the Nigerian Army, particularly Guards Brigade have remained his most dependable ally in addressing operational related issues.
“Hence the need for him to seek for more support from the Brigade which is in charge of the security of the first family  and the FCT environs to enable him discharge his assigned duties effectively”.
The Commissioner appreciated the Commander for the warm reception accorded him and his team stating that the Federal Capital Territory Police Command looks forward to a more robust working relationship with men and officers of the Brigade.
Responding, Brigadier General Adebisi Onasanya appreciated the new Commissioner and his team and congratulated him on his well deserved appointment, stressing that since he took over  command, the FCT and it’s environs has began to witness massive change in the security saying it is a proof of his personality in such a sensitive position.
Brig Gen Onasanya assured the team of the Brigade’s support whenever the need arises adding that officers and men of the Brigade will continue to work as a team. He wished him a successful tour of command.
High point of the visit was the signing of the visitor’s register, presentation of souvenirs and group photographs.
