Good morning Gentlemen of the Press. I am CP Sanusi Buba, the newly posted Commissioner of Police, Katsina state Command.
I am delighted to welcome you to this maiden Press briefing to introduce myself, my mission and the task ahead. I have just taken over from CP Mohd Wakili, who is now the Commissioner of Police, Kano State.
I commend him for the professional service he rendered to the people of Katsina state and wish him well in his new assignment.
In the course of my policing career, I have served in various formations and Commands.
I intend to explore and exploit the prospects and experiences of my professional service to bring about quality policing service to the people of Katsina state.
I have therefore come with tremendous goodwill, open mind, willingness to work and partner with all Katsina residents to ensure we make it safer, more secure, better and prosperous.
Under my watch, the police will work within the ambit of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

We are going to deploy community policing strategy to reduce crime in the state and this we are going to achieve with honesty, professionalism, transparency and through dedication to duty.
The Command under my watch will do everything humanly possible to remain neutral, apolitical and professional before, during and after the 2019 General elections slated for 16th February and 2nd March, 2019.
In the build up to the Elections, the Police High Command initiated Training Program on Capacity Building, on Democratic Policing and Election Security Management for our men which is still up and running.
I will build up on the existing synergy among sister security organizations, the Government,
Traditional Institutions, religious leaders and good people of Katsina state on the ongoing onslaught against cattle rustling, kidnapping and armed banditry in the eight frontline LGAs bordering Rugu Forest in Katsina state with Zamfara state.
I therefore, solicit for support, cooperation, collaboration and partnership of the members of the public by giving us useful and timely information to enable the Command rid the state of all forms of crime and criminality.
Our mission is to make the state crime-free, so as to create conducive environment for business and economic activities to thrive.
