New Projects: APC shows it’s truly Enemy of Ekiti State – Fayose

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state has said the All Progressives Congress (APC), has shown it is truly the enemy of Ekiti State, its people and development by its opposition to and condemnation of legacy projects his administration has executed in the state.

The governor also said having misused the opportunity given the APC to govern the state through the ‘Salamigate Scandal’, the party and its leaders not only put the state in debts, but failed to leave any tangible footprint.

Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Idowu Adelusi, in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday, the governor said the APC, typified by the Kayode Fayemi administration, were not only prodigal sons, but Judas Iscariot who betrayed the confidence reposed in them.

“It is not only ridiculous, but insensitive on the part of APC leaders to condemn the construction of legacy projects such as the new Governor’s Office, the flyover, the new Ojaba Market among others. If they suffer from dementia, the good people of Ekiti do not and can compare and contrast their years of locust with what we have now.

“The good people of Ekiti State still remember vividly the big billboard put at the entrance of Ewi’s Palace by Fayemi then to showcase his proposed new Ojaba Market. Where is that his market?

“Similarly, in one of the annual calendars that inglorious administration printed, he put in the prototype of a flyover there. Did he do it?

“Similarly, the APC and Fayemi said they would build a new Governor’s Office, they went as far as scrapping a parcel of land near the state secretariat at hundreds of millions of naira, but nothing sprung up.

“As usual, the money for that project ended in the bellies of these gluttons. This is apart from committing the state to huge debts incurred through the Capital Market and commercial banks.

“The Peoples Democratic Party-led government is not surprised by their ranting because it is said that even if you dance on water, your enemy will accuse you of raising dust. They are suffering from belly aches because what they failed to do, we have done with even less resources at our disposal.

“The monthly allocations of our state since 2014 till now is in public domain and can be compared with what the APC and Fayemi got from 2010 to 2014,” he said.

On the call by former President Goodluck Jonathan that President Muhammadu Buhari should allow the will of the people prevail during the July 14 governorship poll; Fayose noted that Jonathan had better democratic credentials than his successor.

“Even those who promoted Buhari into office are now like the proverbial benefactors who are now ending up in the Tiger’s belly. Buhari’s stooge, Fayemi, if he is sure of himself would not be going about boasting that it is only ‘federal might’ that will guarantee him success in the poll.

“But we want to wake him up from his hallucinations that God’s might is mightier,” he added.

The governor urged the people of the state not to bother themselves with politics of bitterness of the APC, but continue their support for him and his party as the governorship election draws near.
