Nigerian Army Taekwondo Team wins 2 Silver Medals at Nigeria International Open Championships
The Nigerian Army Taekwondo Team won 2 silver medals at the just concluded Nigeria Taekwondo International Open Championships which took place at the Velodrome, National Stadium, Abuja from 8-10 Feb 2019.
The championship which had 8 Foreign and 20 Local Teams in attendance, featured male and female participation.
The Nigerian Army presented male and female athletes for the championship.

At the end of the 3-day championship, the Nigerian Army Taekwondo Team won 2 Silver Medals which placed her ahead of 20 Other National/Local Teams at the championship.
It is also pertinent to mention that the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation at the Closing Ceremony of the championship, presented the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen TY Buratai with an award in recognition of his contributions to the development of Taekwondo in Nigeria.
The medalists for the Nigerian Army Taekwondo Team are:
Private Walshak Albert- Female +73kg Category
Private Okuomose Benjamin- Male +87kg Category
The Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen TY Buratai has since congratulated the Nigerian Army Taekwondo Team on the feat achieved.
