The Nigerian Navy, NNS Delta Command, on Friday organized a medical rhapsody for hundreds of indigenes and residents of communities in its area of responsibility, with Commander NNS Delta, Commodore Ibrahim Dewu personally supervised and dispensed some medical treatments.
The medical outreach exercise which is part of the Navy’s contribution to communities as part of corporate social responsibilities, kicked off at about 9. 28 am, at Awani Town Hall Ajamimogha Community Warri South LGA.
Aside Commodore Dewu, Nursing Officer Nigerian Navy Hospital, Warri, Capt RO Popoola, Ag Commander Navy Hospital Warri, Lt Cdr I Salawu, graced the outreach occasion.
From the communities came Chief PA James Awani, Elder Tusa Awani, Elder Paul Ebibeyei, Pastor Gabriel Ogbonna, and Youth Chairman Scout Awani amongst others.

In his opening remarks, Commodore Dewu said the Navy is not only fighting crimes but also providing medical assistance to communities.
Additionally, he urged the community to provide useful info that will help the Navy in her operations in the area.
Furthermore, a brief lecture was delivered by on the need for pregnant women to register for Anti natal.
Thereafter, the Commander flagged off the Medical Rhapsody by administering vaccines to children.
The Community Chief thanked the Navy for providing medical assistance to his people and promised to help the Navy with useful information when available.
On his part, the Youth Chairman applauded the Navy for remembering them and promised to work with the Navy to curb crimes in the area.
