Numan Killings: IGP Pays Operational Visit, Activates Manhunt for Perpetrators, Deploys 320 policemen in the LG

 The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris has deployed an additional 320 Mobile Police personnel just Special Investigative Teams have been drafted to Numan local government of Adamawa state for a manhunt of perpetrators of the Fulani herdsmen/farmers clash which left over 30 persons dead.

Also property worth several millions of naira and cattle were destroyed.

IGP Idris disclosed this at the palace of the paramount ruler of Bachama Kingdom, Hamma Bachama, Colonel Honest Irmiya (rtd), when he visited and commiserated with him and the people of Adamawa state.

 The Inspector General of Police also sympathized with victims of the recent clash between herdsmen and farmers just as he assured that the force headquarters would assist the communities with investigative team to bring the perpetrators of the clash to book.

The IGP said more security personnel had already been deployed to the crisis-ridden four communities to protect lives and property.

Responding the Royal Father thanked the IGP for identifying with them in the period of trial.

He appealed to police authorities to fortify his domain with enough personnel, calling for an end to the unnecessary killings of innocent citizens occasioned by constant herdsmen/farmers’ face off.

Commenting on the crisis, some community leaders in Numan commended the IGP for the visit which they said would go a long way to douse tension.

The IGP earlier visited visited Governor Jibrila Bindow where he also sympathized with him over the Mubi bomb blast which killed over 50 persons and the Numan crisis.

He assured the Governor of his intention to unmask perpetrators of Numan herdsmen/farmers’ crisis.

The Governor commended the IGP for the visit, stressing that government would give him necessary support in tracking perpetrators of the crisis.
