Ogun Police Arrest 2 Suspects for Hijacking Truckload of Beer at Gunpoint.

Police in Ogun State has arrested two suspects in connection with hijacking of a truck load of Trophy lager beer coming from Ilesa heading towards Iragbiji in Osun State on gun point.

The arrest of the suspects followed a distress call received by Policemen attached to Sagamu area Command that a truck with Reg. No LEW 615 XA yellow in colour was hijacked by three armed men while coming from Ilesa where he had gone to convey trophy beer valued at Two Million, Seven Hundred and Fourteen Thousand Naira (#2,714,000) and that the vehicle tracking device indicated that the men are heading towards Sagamu with the truck.

On the strength of the distress call, the Area Commander Sagamu ACP Ibrahim Sa’ad Muhammad quickly put all the patrol team around the area on red alert to be on look out for the truck and the armed men.
The Anti-robbery team of the Area Command later intercepted the truck along Sagamu/Ore road where they demolished the truck, blocked it and successfully apprehended one of the robbers while the other two escaped with their arms.

The arrested robber Saheed Omotosho disclosed that the product in the truck has been delivered to their receiver. He later led Police operatives to the said receiver Adijat Azeez at Ode-Remo where the product was recovered and the receiver promptly arrested.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police CP Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered the suspect be transferred to FSARS for discreet investigation with the view of hunting for the fleeing members of the gang and bring them to justice.

The CP equally implored members of the public to report any crime committed in their area to the Police promptly with the assurance that immediate Police action will be taken on such report.
