The People’s Democratic Party has rejected the result of the Ondo State governorship election and called for its cancellation.
The party said in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Dayo Adeyeye, that it had directed its candidate, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede, and the Ondo State chapter to challenge the outcome of the election at the tribunal.
It described the election as a charade, which did not reflect the will of the people and accused the Independent National Electoral Commission of rigging the poll in favour of the All Progressives Congress.

It said APC candidate openly bought votes of the electorates in the full glare of security operatives who did nothing to prevent such dastardly violation of the Electoral Law.”
The PDP said the APC succeeded in buying votes because of the harsh economic situation it had inflicted upon Nigerians “which have indeed made all Nigerians virtually beggars in their own Country”.
