The Operations Commander, Operation Delta Safe, Rear Admiral Suleiman Apochi gas led the Commander NNS Delta and other service commanders in continuation of the mandate of implementation of Operation Safety Check 3 which entered day 4, on Thursday, on a military tour of areas covered by Safety Check.
The operation which is aimed at checkmating the activities of pirates who attack sea going vessels and pipeline vandals as well as operators of illegal refineries is a top priority security operation ordered by the Navy headquarters to secure and protect the nation’s economic assets at sea.

According to a statement, the visit of Sector 1 which was led by Rear Admiral Apochi had in tow, Component Commanders of Delta safe, components of other military services including NNS Delta, a detachment of the Nigerian Air force, the Police, MCC and other component commands.
Noting that the team departed Warri at about 7 am to Koko in Delta State, the statement said the team arrived at about 8.30am and boarded Gunboats to areas of responsibility.
These areas with very significant oil and gas assets include Gelegele, Robinson Creek, Ajide, Olero and Ogheye.
Describing the operation as Successful, the statement said all locations were inspected and troops briefed accordingly adding that the team of joint security operatives returned to base in Warri at about 3.30pm.
