Plot To Hijack N1.5milion: Delta Police Arrest Robbers.

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command on Friday in Asaba foiled an attempt by two armed robbery suspects to hijack the sum of N1.5million from a bank customer who had withdrawn the money and was on his way home.

 Luck ran out for the robbers who having trailed the bank customer from the bank chased him in a car unknowingly, into the office of a vigilante outfit where policemen apprehended them.

 Giving details of the arrest, the police said, “On the 7th of July 2017 at about 1.30pm, one Ogbueshi Paul Nkadi of No 5 Elibujor Street, Asaba reported at the station that he went to withdraw the sum of one million, five hundred thousand naira from First Bank, Asaba.

“After withdrawing the amount of money, from the bank along Nnebisi Road, Asaba, an Ash coloured Toyota Corolla Car with Reg. No. ALW 631 AL, conveying 2 occupants chased him to Asaba Vigilante office where the occupants caught trying to rob him of the money.

The robbers are James Obukowho of Agbaru village, Ughelli and Ikechukwu Adibe of Ihiala LGA, Anambra State.

After their arrest, the two suspects were searched and 4 fabricated master keys and a locally made pistol were recovered from the.

The police are currently carrying out further investigations into how information of the withdrawal got to the robbers.
