There was jubilation at the SARS headquarters complex of the IGP’s Intelligence response Team and the Technical Intelligence Unit of the Nigeria police following the arrest of notorious kidnap kingpin, Evans.
The Inspector-General’s IRT led by ACP Abba Kyari on Saturday said it has arrested one of the most wanted suspected kidnappers at his mansion inside Magodo estate in Lagos at about 1pm.
His real names are Chukwudidumeme Onuamadike aka Evans, native of Nnewi in Nnewi LGA of Anambra state, aged 36 years.
Kyari said Evans was the leader of the notorious ‘Advanced High Profile Person kidnapping’ gang that operates in in FESTAC, Amuwo Odofin, and OJO areas of Lagos state.
“He keeps his victims for up to 6 to 7 months in captivity until when the family pays N300m to N400million in several installments before victims are released.

“Several wealthy Nigerians living in Festac and Amuwo Odofin areas of Lagos relocated to Victoria Island, Lekki and Ikoyi and left their mansions empty because of Evans. He also controls a kidnapping gang that operates in Port Harcourt, Bayelsa and Warri, Delta State.
“He is the mastermind and only survivor in the attempted kidnapping of chief Vincent Obiamudo, the owner of Young Shall Grow motors in Festac, Lagos.
IRT headquarters in Abuja is celebrating the arrest of the most wanted brilliant and notorious high-profile kidnapper in Nigeria.
ACP Kyari confirmed, “He has collected several billions of Naira as ransom in the last seven years as the kingpin of kidnappers.
“He was arrested at about 1.00p.m on Saturday in his residence in Magodo Estate, Lagos”.
He commended the Force Headquarters for mobilizing the resources to go all out against the “richest and most notorious kidnapper” in the history of Nigeria.
Kyari said the Inspector-General had directed that the suspect should be paraded before newsmen on Sunday in Lagos.
