The FCT Police Command have smashed a notorious syndicate which specializes in vandalizing property of the Nigerian Railways including tracks meant for train movement.
The suspects were arrested at Kubwa for removing iron pools and chain link fencing used as barrier around railway lines in Kubwa.
The Police in a statement giving details said, “In fulfillment of the FCT Police Command renewed commitment to protect and strengthen security around critical infrastructure across the Federal Capital Territory, vigilant Police operatives attached to Kubwa Area Command have smashed a notorious syndicate that specialized in vandalizing property of the Nigeria Railway Corporation.
“The suspects Uchechi Onyemaizu 35 years old, Daniel Ugboloke 31 years old and Abdullahi Usman 27 years old all of Kaba area of Kagini were arrested on Sunday 16th 2017 at about 10am by Police operatives following a tip-off that they were vandalizing iron pools and chain link fencing used as barrier around railway lines in Kubwa.
“Sequel to a search conducted at their respective homes, a total of eighty (80) pieces of iron pole has so far been recovered from the suspects as exhibits.
“Efforts are being intensified to recover the chain link fencing.
Continuing the statement signed by DSP Anjuguri Manzah said, “Similarly, on Sunday, at about 5.38pm Police operatives attached to Wuye Division on patrol arrested the duo of Suraju Aliyu and Hassan Yusuf both of Delta Line Jabi Garage for vandalizing CCTV stand at Wuye junction.
“The vandalized rods have been recovered from the suspects as exhibits. All suspects will be arraigned in court on conclusion of investigation.”
