Police in Delta Gun-down Dare-Devil Robbers; Arrest Kidnapper who had been on the run.

The Police in Delta State on Saturday night dispatched two armed robbery suspects to their death after a fierce gun battle at Effurun roundabout with the suspects engaging the police with a military rifle.

Also, a wanted kidnapper belonging to a gang who had been on the run after other members of his gang were arrested was arrested by the Delta State Police Command.

Making these disclosures in a statement, CP Ibrahim Mohammed Zanna said, “At about 9.30pm on Saturday July 1st 2017, a Quick Response Patrol team while on Visibility Stop and search, along Effurun roundabout/ PTI road in Warri, sighted a tricycle with Reg. No PTN 508 UP with 3 male occupants.

“Their appearance attracted the suspicion of the Patrol team. In a bid to stop them and search the Tricycle, they opened fire on the police team.

“During the exchange of fire, two of the hoodlums sustained bullet injuries while one escaped. The duo later gave up the ghost on the way to the hospital.

“One military rifle with batch no 1968KH3007 and 7 live rounds of ammunition, two touch lights and Nokia phones were recovered along with the tricycle and further investigation is ongoing”.

 Regarding the kidnapper, CP Ibrahim said, “Sequel to the manhunt of the remaining suspects that kidnapped and robbed one Mr. Victor Nkadi and one other person, of their Toyota Venza and Mercedes Formatic Jeeps respectively on 3rd June 2017, the police on July 1st 2017, at about 10.34am at Otokutu area of Warri arrested another member of the gang.

The kidnapper, Ejiro Ogedenmgbe, 29 years old, of 14 River Road, Otokutu was nabbed by men of the Eagle Net Squad and exhibits recovered from him include a Techno L8 mobile phone belonging to one of the victims.
