Police nab ‘one chance’ cab operator in Abuja; recover stolen cash, jewelry.
In its renewed effort to fight crime and make the Federal Capital Territory safe and secured for FCT residents, the FCT Police Command at the weekend arrested one Sunday Ojo who hides under the guise of being a cab operator to rob and dispossess his unsuspecting passengers of cash and other valuables.
A statement by DSP Anjuguri Manzah, PRO FCT Police Command said, “On the 12th of April at about 02. 25pm acting on report police operatives attached to Iddo Police Division following a discreet investigation arrested the above named suspect at his residence at Gbesa village.

He had robbed his female passenger of the cash sum of N70, 000, wrist watch and her ATM card, which was used by the suspect to withdraw N100, 000. 00 from the victim’s bank account.
According to the victim (names withheld), she boarded the suspect’s car along Airport road Lugbe but was diverted by the suspect to Jedo Estate Sabon Lugbe where he robbed her of the items stated above.
The suspect in whose apartment the victim’s wrist watch and SIM card was recovered has confessed to the crime and is helping the Police in its investigation.
In compliance with the directives of the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Musa Kimo, the suspect has been transferred to the Command Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.
Exhibits recovered include a blue Coloured Renault Car with Reg. NO. AG 372 REL
