The Intelligence Response Team (IRT) of the Inspector General of Police has neutralized the leader of a notorious kidnapping for ransom gang who had been terrorizing citizens along the Abuja-Kaduna road.
The Kidnapping Kingpin, Hassan Saleh aka ‘Yellow’ was gunned down deep inside the Rijianna Forest in Kaduna state following a shootout between his gang and IRT operatives.
Two other members of the gang were arrested alive in the forest after the shootout while others escaped into the forest.

Confirming the killing of the kingpin, the Police said, “On Wednesday 21st March 2018, based on credible information received about a hideout of a notorious kidnap kingpin Hassan Saleh aka Yellow and his gang members deep inside Rijianna Forest, Kaduna state, combined teams of IRT personnel and vigilante men stormed the kidnapper’s camp.
“On sighting the operatives the deadly kidnappers opened fire on the teams who returned fire and fatally wounded the gang leader Hassan Saleh aka ‘Yellow’.
“The IRT teams also arrested Abdullahi Usman 34 years from Rijianna village, Kaduna state and Zaiyanu Bello 25 years from Kauru, Katsina state alive and recovered an AK 47 rifle
“Other members of the gang escaped. Suspects have confessed to several kidnappings within Abuja-Kaduna highway and mentioned other gang members at large.
“Serious efforts in progress to get remaining gang members at large and bring them to justice”.
