Police promotes Area Commander, Mushin, Akinbayo Olasoji to ACP for Uprightness, Exemplary Conduct in investigation.

 
The Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris promoted Mr. Akinbayo Olasunkomi Olasoji, the Area Commander, Mushin in Lagos, to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police.
The decoration of ACP Olasoji in particular, is based on special recommendation for exemplary service.
The decoration of eleven other Commissioners of Police took place at Force headquarters just as families of 112 police officers who lost their lives or suffered life threatening injuries while tackling criminality in different parts of the country were give Police life assurance benefits totaling N180million by the IGP.
Depending on the severity of the injury of death to each police officer involved, some of the beneficiaries got up to N1.8million, some N1.2million, some N850, 000 to cushion the effects of losing their bread winners or having them incapacitated by armed robbers and kidnapers.
Assistant Police Commissioner, Olasoji , a thorough bread Police investigator busted several criminal activities for the Nigeria Police force including those which led to recoveries of N5.2million, N21million and $12, 900 in Warri and Port Harcourt in recent past.
In March 2012, while investigating a matter, Olasoji was offered a bribe of N21million and $12, 900 while conducting a search in the house of a suspect. He rebuffed the inducement to allow the suspect escape justice. He proceeded with the arrest and testified in court. The bribe money was handed over to the police and registered as exhibit.
In a commendation letter from the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) to the  Secretary to the Government of the federation on 16, March, 2015, NBA said, “We write to recommend the Akinbayo Olasoji for accelerated promotion as well as the conferment of a national award, on account of his exemplary service, incorruptibility and dedication to duty.
“The recommendation of this incorruptible, intelligent and highly resourceful  police officer is based on facts which came to our knowledge in the course of our work as well as tracking of activities of law enforcement  agents who despite great odds, have shown great courage, uprightness, dedication to duty and doing the right thing”.
Other officers are CP John Daniel Amadi, CP Olugbenga Adeyanju, CP Joseph Agaji, CP Augustine Ezechukwu, CP Babatunde Kokumo, CP Ududo Adat Ududo and CP Gbemisola Olajumoke.
Also decorated were CP Undie Adie, CP Ladul Garba, CP Attaboh Aromeh, and CP Busari Hakeem Aramide
