Prepare for Final Onslaught against Boko Haram: GOC 3 Division charges Troops.

Troops of Headquarters 3 Division Tactical (Sector 2) deployed in the front lines of Operation Lafiya Dole have been told to get ready for final onslaught to clear the remnants of Boko Haram Terrorists’ in the Division’s Areas of Responsibility.

This was contained in a message delivered by the Acting General Officer Commanding 3 Division Nigerian Army,  Brig Gen Benjamin Ahanotu, during  his visit to troops of 331 Artillery Regiment, 231 battalion and FOB Buratai respectively in commemoration of Nigeria’s 57 lndependent Anniversary Celebration.

In his address, the Acting GOC commended the troops for being steadfast and encouraged them to remain loyal to the service, stressing that the welfare of troops remains his priority.

He admitted that the marshy nature of the terrain due to raining season has caused troops to temporary halt some operational activities.

He urged the troops to remain alert and be highly conscious as well as to seize the advantage of the period to prepare their body and minds so as to be physically and mentally ready for the final onslaught to clear the insurgents in their enclaves when the terrain becomes suitable.

The GOC added that the government was ready to support the Nigerian Army with all it takes to put an end to criminal and dastardly activities of the insurgents.

On arrival, the GOC was received by the Commanding Officer 331 Artillery Regiment, Lt Col MY Mohammed and Commanding Officer 231 Battalion, Lt Col MS Sule in Buratai where he addressed troops of the FOB.

He later proceeded to Abogo Lergama Military Cantonment Biu where he inspected a quarter guard before addressing troops of 331 Arty Regiment and 231 bn.

While in Biu, the GOC also paid courtesy call on the Emir of Biu His Royal Highness Alhaji Umar Mustapha Aliyu.  

Earlier on, he had inspected facilities at the ongoing Nigerian Army Counter Terrorist and Insurgency Museum located in Buratai.

The Ag GOC was accompanied during the visit by the Comd 53 Signal Bde Brig Gen GS Abdulahi, Comd 3 Provost Group Col SN Eze and DCOS G3 Col AGL Haruna.
