The Presidency has confirmed the appointment of Matthew Seiyefa, the most senior Director in the Department of State Service (DSS), as the Acting Director General of the agency.
In an official and verified Twitter Account of the Presidency its states that “Update: Matthew B. Seiyefa, the most senior Director in the Department of State Services (DSS), will act as Director-General until further notice.”
Seiyefa had held a meeting with the Acting President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa after the sacking of the Former DG Lawal Daura.

PR-Nigeria recalls that the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, directed the termination of the appointment of the Director-General, State Security Service, Daura today “breaching national security”
Seiyefa, who hails from Bayelsa State, had earlier served as the Director of the Institute of Security Studies (ISS), before he was transferred to the DSS headquarters.
Other reports indicate that Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo held a meeting with Seiyefa when he arrived the Presidential Villa in an official SUV at 4pm, clutching a file and was received at the entrance by the ADC to the Acting President.
Seiyefa, however, came out of the Acting President’s office around 5p.m, without addressing the press.
