The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar on Friday, November 24, 2017 decorated 22 newly promoted Air Vice Marshals and 28 newly promoted Air Commodores with their new ranks.
He was assisted during the occasion at the NAF Blue Room Conference Hall at HQ NAF by the representative of the Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Henry Babalola and the representative of the Chief of Army Staff, Major General Chris Jemitola.

Among officers decorated with the new rank were AVM Samuel Adeniyi Babalola, AVM Olatokunbo Adesanya, AVM Peter Uzezi, AVM Charles Owho, AVM Frank Okparah, AVM Emmanuel Eze and AVM Idi Amin.
Others decorated include AVM Paul Jemitola who hails from Kogi State, AVM Liman Abubakar, AVM Gambo Lubo, AVM Nelson Calmday, AVM Musa Tanko, AVM Olusegun Philips, AVM Arinze Ochonma, AVM Umar Muhammed, AVM Dahiru Sanda and AVM Gambo Pani.
